Ridley's Noah RS benefits from the research and development efforts put into the flagship Noah, but with a few cuts here and there to keep the price sub-stratospheric. Where the Noah uses a blend of 50-, 40-, and 30-ton carbon fiber, the Noah RS makes use of 30 and 24-ton. This results in a slightly more flexible frame, but also a more compliant ride. Even with the lower-modulus carbon, the Noah RS seems to respond to every watt of power output. The handling characteristics are remarkable -- one of us compared it to a phenomenally powerful luxury sedan: smooth, intuitive, and faster than you realize. The Noah RS forgoes the integrated seat mast in favor of a full-length aero seat post. While we love a good integrated seat mast, the post makes it easy to change your position for a rougher course, or share the bike with someone. Ridley's R-Flow split fork draws turbulent air away from the spokes to reduce drag by about 5.5%. The R-Surface paint treatment chops another 3% off the drag figures. Internal cable routing makes the bike even sleeker.
